At the beginning of December the New York Times Sunday Book Review listed the 100 Notable Books Of 2014. I was a bit dismayed to find, when I read through the list, that I had not read one single book this year that they listed as notable.

I decided long ago that I did not need to read every book on any of the usual “Books of the Year” lists, but I would have thought that I would find at least 1 or 2 on a list of 100.
